We collect as little as we can: your ratings, a network hash that is only kept for the current week, and where you came from.

What we store when you rate
| Your ratings | Disciplines, models, stars, and the optional frequency, surface and plan answers. Kept for as long as the boards exist. Used for the boards, and published per rating, anonymised, as open data: a random id that changes every export, the month, and your answers; no network hash, no source, no country, no weights, and rare plans or tools merged into broader groups. |

| Network hash | A keyed hash (HMAC-SHA-256) of your IP address. IPv6 addresses are first cut to their /56 network. The key is 32 random bytes, made fresh for each calendar week (Monday to Sunday, UTC) and stored only in our database. We use the hash for one thing: noticing a second submission from the same network in the same week. When the week ends, we delete that week's key and all of that week's hashes, within the hour. We never store the IP address itself. |

| “Missing a model?” | If you use that box: the text you type (at most 80 characters) and the network hash, to stop the box being flooded. The text is shown only to us, never on the site, and deleted after 90 days. The hash goes with the week, as above. Please don't type anything personal there. |
| Thank-you link | A random code that opens your thank-you page. It shows the models you rated, nothing else. Anyone you give the link to can see that page. |
We don't ask for your name or email, and you can't write free text.
Why, and on what basis
The network hash, the bot check and the source are there to stop one person or one campaign from flooding the boards. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the boards honest (GDPR article 6(1)(f)). The ratings are published only as totals.
Cookies
rb_draft: remembers your answers while you move between the steps. Deleted when you submit, or after a day.rb_done: a signed note that you've rated this week. It expires after 7 days.rb_ref: remembers which link brought you here, for a day, so it can be stored with your ratings.
These are needed for the site to work, so there's no cookie banner. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
Other services
- Cloudflare carries every visit to this site: its network (CDN and tunnel) sits between your browser and our server, so it processes your IP address and request details for every page. On the last step, Cloudflare Turnstile also checks that you're not a bot, using browser signals. See Cloudflare's privacy policy and Turnstile privacy notice.
- Umami, which we run ourselves, counts page views without cookies and without storing IP addresses. It is not loaded on the thank-you page.
No AI system processes your answers.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete data about you, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Because we don't store anything that ties a rating to you, we usually can't find your ratings. If you still have your thank-you link, send it to us and we'll delete that submission. You can also complain to your national data protection authority.
